Jester is quietly situated atop a hilly ridge, which provides sweeping views of the scenic and pristine preserve. Much like many of the other neighborhoods in the Northwest area, Jester provides the perfect balance between the busy, metropolitan conveniences of downtown Austin and quiet, serene country living. Although the neighborhood is tucked away in the rolling hills, Jester is just a short drive away from everything Austin has to offer including the hi-tech corridor, downtown, The Arboretum and Domain shopping centers, and three of the most popular lakes in the Highland Lake Chain. Lakes Travis, Austin and Ladybird are all just a ten minute car ride away.
The Jester Home Owners Association plays an active role in the community. The organization sponsors a variety of groups including tennis, rowing, wine tasting, diner, kayaking, cycling, woodworking, and fishing clubs. There are also multiple annual neighborhood celebrations including Easter Egg Hunts, Halloween parties, Fourth of July Parades, and summer movie nights.
Not only is Jester supported by an active HOA, but the neighborhood club is another major staple of the community. For an annual fee, Jester residents get exclusive access to the Jester pool, clubhouse and other recreational festivities. The pool facility is a hotspot for summer activities in the area and serves as the perfect place for birthday parties, family get-togethers, and lazy summer days.
Jester is serviced by the Austin Independent School District where students attend nationally recognized schools including Hill Elementary, Murchison Middle School, and Anderson High School, as well as many accredited parochial schools conveniently located in the area.
