While many Northern cities and states are experiencing dramatic declines in their population, Cedar Park is one of the fastest growing areas in the country. Not content to be just a bedroom community to Austin's growing metropolitan area, Cedar Park is on the rise to become one of the up and coming cities in all of Texas.
A rich history, nationally commended schools, beautiful landscapes, and friendly neighbors are just some of the perks you can find in Cedar Park. Situated forty minutes northwest of downtown Austin, the booming community is close enough for busy professionals looking to commute, but far enough away to appreciate a real sense of small town living withh all of the amenities and conveniences of a large city.
Even though Austin is just a short drive away, there is plenty to do in Cedar Park. The town is home to two top-level minor league professional teams: The Texas Stars who compete in the American Hockey League and the Austin Toros, a competitive member of the NBA Development League. There is also a state-of-the-art public skate park that was completed in 2010 that features a 15,000 square-foot facility and includes a mini and large bowl, as well as a modern street course.
The Cedar Park Center was completed in 2009 and is now a major regional venue for entertainment events and attracts performers from around the world. Cedar Park will soon also be home the fifth installment of world famous Schlitterbahn waterparks which will be completed just in time for Summer 2012.
Cedar Park is serviced by the Leander Independent School District where students attend either Cedar Park or Vista Ridge High School, or many of the accredited private institutions conveniently located in the area.
