Canyon Creek lies on the outskirts of Austin city limits; downtown nightlife and professional buildings are only a twenty-minute drive. The neighborhood is near Lakeline Mall, a major shopping hub which offers residents some of the best shopping, eating, and movie-going that Austin has to offer; numerous parks and hike-and-bike trails are also close by. Canyon Creek is only five miles away from both Lake Travis and Lake Austin, a quick trip for those who love boating, swimming, and the gorgeous Highland Lakes.
The neighborhood was developed by the Blanton Company in the late 1980's and experienced rapid growth throughout the 1990's. Owner Perry Blanton envisioned a family-oriented community that would be filled with parks and trails so that residents could experience the best of the northern Texas Hill Country.
Canyon Creek is serviced by two renowned school districts: Round Rock Independent School District where students attend Canyon Creek Elementary, Grisham Middle School, and Westwood High School (ranked 78th in the US News and World Report) as well as Leander Independent School District where students attend Grandview Elementary, Canyon Ridge Middle School, and Cedar Park High School.
