The majority of homes in Balcones Village were built in the seventies and many, if not most, have been updated and renovated providing residents with the most modern, domestic conveniences but with the same rustic, hill country look and charm.
The heavily-wooded area provides residents with a haven from the busyness of city life. Because Balcones Village is one of the older neighborhoods in the area, mature, shady trees are common throughout the community. Mountain View Park, a neighborhood favorite, is centrally located within Balcones Village and provides residents with basketball and tennis courts, playscapes, and a multi-purpose sports field. The Balcones Village HOA plays an important role in maintaining a tight-knit feel within the community and hosts many annual events such as holiday tree decorating, National Night Out, and neighborhood-wide garage sales.
The community centers around the golf course and country club, often considered one of the most reasonably priced golfing communities in the state. The course is many Austinites' favorite within the community and the club hosts many social and community events throughout the year. The Balcones Club also offers Balcones Village Residents the best in swimming, tennis, and dining.
Balcones Village is just a fifteen minute car ride from downtown and conveniently located near many of Northern Austin's best shopping and entertainment complexes; the Arboretum and Domain offer upscale shops and eateries while Mainevent and nearby Lake Travis provide a fun time for the whole family.
Balcones Village is serviced by the nationally-recognized Round Rock Independent School District where students attend Spicewood Elementary, Canyon Vista Middle School, and Westwood High School.
